What was it like having the spotlight on you from such a young age?AS: Another great thing about the book is just like Bella, Autumn is Cuban, and with the lack of representation of Latinos in literature, the diversity in this series is welcome and refreshing. For Bella, making the character Latina was something that happened naturally. “Being Cuban is just a big part of my life so I wanted it to be a part of hers as well,” she says. “It wasn’t a question of whether the character should be Cuban or not, Autumn is Cuban.
